Selena Gomez’s fiancé Benny Blanco makes heartbreaking admission about their relationship

Benny Blanco has made an emotional confession about his relationship with fiancée Selena Gomez, sharing what truly “scares” him about their romance.

The Hollywood couple has been making headlines ever since they publicly confirmed their relationship in 2023. Fans were caught off guard by the revelation, as Blanco and Gomez had been friends for years, having first met as teenagers around 17. Their professional collaboration on Blanco’s 2019 track I Can’t Get Enough only solidified their bond.

Things reportedly took a romantic turn in mid-2023 before Gomez made their relationship official with a social media post. By Christmas of that year, the couple had taken the next step and gotten engaged.

Though they seem happier than ever, the 36-year-old producer has admitted to having fears and insecurities about his relationship with the 32-year-old singer.

In an interview with Interview Magazine, Blanco revealed that he sometimes worries Gomez will suddenly change her mind and leave him.

“I’m so scared she’s just going to wake up and be like, ‘What? No,'” he confessed.

But Gomez was quick to reassure him, responding, “You’re stuck with me.”

She also spoke about his romantic nature, highlighting one of his more over-the-top gestures—filling a bathtub with nacho cheese and spelling out “I love you” in chips on the floor for Valentine’s Day.

Blanco emphasized that their relationship is built on mutual support. “There’s no ego between us. She’s praying for me to win, and I’m praying for her to win,” he shared.

Their candid conversation comes as they gear up to release their joint album, I Said I Love You First, which is set to drop on March 21. Initially, the couple was hesitant about collaborating, agreeing to stop if it ever felt “weird.” However, Blanco revealed that the project came together naturally through “a lot of hard work and love” and a bit of a “hodgepodge.”

Fans have already gotten a taste of the album with their first love song, Scared of Loving You, and its accompanying music video, which was filmed at Disneyland and released last week.

The interview, which marks the first time the couple has sat down for a joint conversation, showed their undeniable chemistry as they finished each other’s sentences and spoke at length about their relationship.

Blanco also shared that he had no outside help when choosing Gomez’s engagement ring—a marquise diamond—saying he picked the “perfect” one based on subtle hints from her.

“We talk about everything all day so—also, I never take myself seriously, so everything I say—”

“Is a joke,” Gomez interjected.

Blanco, clearly smitten, admitted that from the moment they started dating, he knew she was the one.

“The second we started hanging out romantically, I was telling my mom, ‘This is the girl I’m going to marry,'” he recalled.

He went on to say, “I could sit in this bed with [Gomez] for 72 hours and feel like I didn’t miss anything. She’s like my f**king heroin and Xanax combined.”
