Rod Stewart announces end of a era as he makes a HUGE change

Rod Stewart, the iconic rock star celebrated for his raspy voice, timeless hits, and signature hairstyle, has shared some bittersweet news with his fans.

The 79-year-old music legend, known for classics like “Forever Young” and “Maggie May,” recently announced that his upcoming One Last Time tour will mark the end of his large-scale world tours. On November 20, Stewart took to Instagram to make the heartfelt announcement.

“This is the end of big world tours for me,” he revealed in his post. “But don’t worry, I’m not retiring. I still love what I do. It’s just time to play in smaller, more intimate venues.”

Stewart assured fans that he remains in excellent health and good spirits, even poking fun at himself: “I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79.” Despite his physical vitality, the rock icon feels it’s time to step away from the demanding, globe-trotting lifestyle of massive arena concerts.

For fans who’ve followed his career spanning decades, this announcement signals the end of an era. Stewart’s One Last Time tour will mark his final appearances in large venues, where his unmistakable voice and electrifying stage presence have thrilled audiences for years.

A New Chapter

While this marks the close of his large-scale touring days, Stewart is far from stepping out of the spotlight. The versatile artist, whose music has spanned rock, soul, and R&B over the years, hinted at a shift in focus.

“I’d like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next — smaller venues and more intimacy,” he shared in his post, expressing excitement for a new phase in his career.

However, Stewart kept things lighthearted, adding a touch of humor: “But then again, I may not…,” signing off as “The Ambiguous Sir Rod Stewart.”

The Final Tour

Rod Stewart’s One Last Time tour will bring his legendary performances to fans across the U.S. and Canada. The 20-date tour kicks off in March in Austin, Texas, and concludes in St. Louis in August. While Stewart is ready to slow down, fans still have one last chance to witness his unforgettable charisma and talent live on stage.

For an artist who has spent decades evolving his sound and captivating the world, Stewart’s decision to transition to smaller, more intimate performances marks the start of a new chapter while giving a heartfelt goodbye to the grandeur of his big arena tours.
