Prince Harry recently shared a relatable parenting moment—his two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, often make surprise appearances during his virtual meetings.
During an October 29 episode of Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know, the Duke of Sussex, 41, admitted that his kids “just barge in” whenever he’s on a call. Harry and Meghan Markle, who live in Montecito, California, share a home office while balancing work and family life with their two children—Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4.
When Minhaj asked what his children think he does for work, Harry explained, “They know that we help other people, but they don’t know the background.”
The host then teased further, asking what happens when Harry tells them, “Daddy’s on a call.” Laughing, Harry said, “All they’re interested in is saying hi to the people on the call. They love seeing familiar faces. Sometimes I’ll try to signal, ‘Not now,’ but then they just jump on my lap and say, ‘Hi guys!’ ”
Meghan Shares a Similar Experience
The Duchess of Sussex has also spoken about her children’s cameos. In an April episode of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, Meghan shared that little Lilibet enjoys dropping in during her virtual meetings.
While discussing the creation of her American Riviera Orchard brand with Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, Meghan said, “Lili still naps, she gets picked up early and she naps, she only has a half day in preschool.
If she wakes up and wants to find me, she knows exactly where to go—even if my office door is closed. She’ll be sitting on my lap during one of these meetings with a grid of all the executives… I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Archie’s Cameos on Family Zooms
It’s not the first time Archie has joined in on-screen. Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie previously revealed in 2020 that Archie was already familiar with his parents’ virtual work life.
“I loved discovering their daily Zoom calls with the various initiatives and people that they work with,” Scobie said on The Heir Pod. “And how Archie is no stranger to climbing in front of the web camera and making little impromptu cameos.”
These small family moments, shared by both Harry and Meghan, offer a glimpse into the couple’s life in California—where royal duties meet everyday parenting, complete with adorable interruptions and warm family chaos.
