Princess Kate makes heartbreaking confession about son Prince Louis’ behaviour at home

The Princess of Wales has given a charming glimpse into life at home with her youngest child, Prince Louis — and it turns out he has a rather quirky little habit.

While hosting an outdoor event with U.S. First Lady Melania Trump at Frogmore House on Thursday, September 18, Kate revealed that seven-year-old Louis has developed a passion for collecting conkers.

“He’s absolutely obsessed,” the princess shared with Chief Scout Dwayne Fields. “We keep finding conkers in cupboards, in his bed — conkers everywhere!”

According to Kate, her son even stuffs them into his toy cars and drives them around, turning his growing collection into part of his playtime.

Kate and Melania’s day with the Scouts

The event saw Kate and Melania join a group of Squirrel Scouts for nature-inspired activities as they worked toward their “Go Wild” badges. The pair crouched down with the children to build bug hotels, joined in with parachute games, and chatted about wildlife.

The young Scouts were also treated to homemade snacks from the royal kitchens, including oat and cranberry biscuits baked with honey from Kate’s own beehives at Anmer Hall. In return, Mrs Trump surprised the children with jars of White House honey to take home.

Chief Scout Dwayne Fields praised Kate’s involvement, saying: “Having someone with the profile of the Princess of Wales as joint president, you can imagine it’s incredible for the young people to see her. It’s a great thing to have her shine a light on the movement.”

A sweet royal moment

As well as talking about Louis’ quirky love of conkers, Kate engaged warmly with the children, asking questions about their bug hotels and drawings. At one point, she smiled and asked a group: “I like bees — do you think bees will come into your hotel?”

For royal fans, the day offered a sweet reminder that behind the palace walls, the Wales children are growing up with simple, wholesome pastimes — with Prince Louis, in particular, filling the family home with his endless supply of conkers.
