Fresh allegations from an upcoming royal biography have sparked a swift response from Prince Harry. The book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by author Andrew Lownie, revisits long-standing rumors involving tensions with Prince Andrew and comments about Meghan Markle.

Harry’s response to the claims

In a statement to Us Weekly on August 2, 2025, a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex dismissed the accusations:

“I can confirm neither of those things are true. Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry.”

The denial came after excerpts from the book, published by the Daily Mail, described an alleged confrontation between Harry and his uncle at a 2013 family event. The book suggests the incident escalated after Andrew allegedly spoke negatively about Harry behind his back. According to the account, the argument became physical, resulting in Andrew being injured before family members intervened.

A book that revisits royal controversies

Scheduled for release on August 14, 2025, the biography delves into controversies surrounding Prince Andrew and his former wife Sarah Ferguson, using insights from over a hundred interviews and years of research.

The author also touches on the scandal involving Virginia Giuffre’s accusations of sexual abuse and trafficking in 2013. Andrew denied the allegations in a 2019 BBC interview, claiming no recollection of meeting Giuffre despite a widely circulated photo. He also expressed that his past friendship with Jeffrey Epstein had “some beneficial outcomes,” a remark that drew public backlash.

Following increasing scrutiny and the fallout from his association with Epstein, Prince Andrew was stripped of his royal duties. The biography suggests that these controversies continue to cast a shadow over the monarchy.
