Meghan Markle’s furious reaction after being asked about Prince Harry revealed after huge misunderstanding

Meghan Markle was reportedly unhappy after being asked about Prince Harry during a 2017 interview.

Just before Meghan and Prince Harry announced their engagement, she graced the cover of Vanity Fair. However, a misunderstanding led to her reportedly expressing dissatisfaction with the interview, which has now been revealed.

In his new memoir, When the Going was Good, former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter shared the details of what transpired, explaining that Meghan had misunderstood the focus of the interview.

“Jane Sarkin, who booked our covers, came in and said, ‘We should do a cover on Meghan Markle,’” Carter told Page Six.

“I said, ‘I have no idea who that is.’ She replied, ‘She’s on Suits.’ I said, ‘I don’t know what that is, why should we do a story on her?’ She then said, ‘Because she’s going to marry Prince Harry.’”

Carter went on to explain that Meghan had expected the interview to highlight her charity work, but it ended up focusing on her relationship with Prince Harry instead.

“Excuse me, is this going to all be about Prince Harry? Because I thought we were going to be talking about my charities and my philanthropy,” Meghan reportedly said.

“This woman is slightly adrift on the facts and reality,” Carter added.

However, wanting to focus on her charity work rather than her relationship with Harry seems like a completely reasonable response.

Carter spoke about Meghan’s interview with Vanity Fair

In her interview with Vanity Fair, Meghan was asked about her relationship with Harry.

She shared: “It has its challenges, and it comes in waves — some days it can feel more challenging than others,” adding, “And right out of the gate it was surprising the way things changed. But I still have this support system all around me, and, of course, my boyfriend’s support.”

She continued, “… We’re two people who are really happy and in love. We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people’s perception. Nothing about me changed. I’m still the same person that I am, and I’ve never defined myself by my relationship.”

Meghan was reportedly unhappy about the number of questions about Harry

Meghan and Harry announced their engagement in November 2017 and tied the knot in May 2018.

The couple now resides in California after stepping down from their senior royal duties in 2020.

In a recent interview with Page Six, Carter, who was close to Princess Diana, shared that Harry’s mother would likely feel “great sorrow” about the ongoing tensions within the family.

“I would think she would feel great sorrow for her son to have been pulled away from his family like this, especially his brother but also his father,” Carter reflected.

“Anytime someone comes between siblings that’s a disaster, horrible for a family,” he added.
