Lip reader reveals what Prince Louis asked his father on VE day

As the UK celebrated the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day on Monday (5 May), the royal family joined in the commemorative events — and once again, Prince Louis captured hearts with his playful and charming behavior.

The Prince and Princess of Wales appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony along with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, just in time to watch a Red Arrows flyover ahead of the official VE Day on Thursday.

Later on, during a military parade, Prince Louis sat next to Prince William, who was dressed in full military uniform, when a sweet and memorable moment between the two took place.

At one point, the seven-year-old was spotted brushing rain off his dad’s jacket. Prince William then gently tapped Louis on the leg and, according to lip reader Nicola Hickling, said: “Look at this, I think it’s going to be quite wet today.”

Louis, known for his cheeky sense of humor, reportedly replied (per The Sun): “Wasn’t this supposed to be fun?”

Trying to lift his son’s spirits, William replied: “It is, son. You’ll never forget this,” and added: “It’s not going to be long, and I want you to be taking an interest.”

Elsewhere, Princess Kate shared a sweet moment with 10-year-old Charlotte, whispering: “Doesn’t Papa look smart today?”

After the parade, 11-year-old Prince George joined his parents at a tea party with veterans, where he impressed everyone with how curious and thoughtful he was.

Samantha Davidson, whose grandfather is 101-year-old D-Day veteran Alfred Littlefield, said George asked how old he was during the war. The veteran was said to be “delighted” by the young prince’s interest.

Even though the day was quite serious, George and his younger brother Louis still showed their fun side. In a viral clip, Louis was seen playfully teasing George over a dramatic hair flip — a sweet moment of brotherly mischief that made people smile online.
