King Charles may give update on cancer treatment after ‘better than expected’ report

King Charles has been all smiles this summer as he attended several engagements and garden parties as his cancer treatment continues. He is also expected to spend the summer at Balmoral

King Charles might one day open up about the specific type of cancer he’s battling, as he maintains a positive outlook amidst his ongoing treatment, according to a Royal insider. The 75-year-old monarch is said to be upbeat after receiving a “better than expected” report.

The King caused a global stir in February when he disclosed that he had been diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer and would be undergoing treatment. The diagnosis followed a scheduled surgery for an enlarged prostate in London.

Charles broke new ground by sharing his diagnosis, marking a departure from the Royal Family’s usual practice of keeping health issues private. The King has been particularly forthright about his diagnosis, telling hospital patients about the “shock” of learning that he had cancer when he returned to his duties in April. Naturally stoic, when he was asked how he felt, King Charles replied: “I’m all right, thanks. Not too bad.”

Royal insiders have said this could continue, with more information about the King’s illness. A source told the Sun: “Never say never. There are no current plans to reveal the cancer.

“But if he felt that the time was right…”

Following his diagnosis, the King took a three-month hiatus from his Royal engagements to focus on his recovery. He made a successful comeback in April, and those close to him have remarked on the prevailing sense of hope due to the positive response to his treatment, reports the Express.

They shared with the publication that although the monarch is “not yet out of the woods”, there is “great optimism” and the treatment has progressed “better than anyone would have thought”.

The insiders noted: “It wasn’t like he was totally broken and nor are we totally out of the woods yet as treatment continues. Treatment has gone better than anyone would have thought even in their most optimistic thoughts.”

An individual in the King’s inner circle commented: “The sun wasn’t shining in February but it is shining now”. Charles has been beaming throughout the summer, attending numerous events and garden parties as he continues his treatment.

On Monday, the King was seen at the gates of Balmoral, inspecting the Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland. This ceremony signified the official welcome of the monarch to the Aberdeenshire castle, where he and the Queen will spend their summer holidays with other members of the Royal Family.
