Princess Eugenie’s ‘gesture’ to Meghan Markle on her 44th birthday

As Meghan Markle celebrates her 44th birthday today, royal watchers are curious to see who from the royal family might reach out. According to royal expert Jennie Bond, Princess Eugenie may be one of the few who sends Meghan a message or even a small gift.

Princess Eugenie’s quiet gesture

“I don’t think Meghan should hold her breath for birthday messages from the royal family,” Jennie told The Mirror. “Though it may well be that Princess Eugenie, and possibly Beatrice, will send a present or a card.”

Eugenie has kept a warm connection with Prince Harry and Meghan since their move to California. She is often seen as one of the couple’s quiet supporters.

Meanwhile, Jennie believes Prince Harry will go all out to celebrate. “As far as I can see, he is still head over heels in love with Meghan and will probably organise a romantic dinner or perhaps a beach party with friends and lots of children to celebrate their happy family life in California,” she said. “Maybe a sunrise yoga session would set the day up rather nicely.”

A year of transformation

The past eight months have been transformative for Meghan. She rejoined Instagram, launched her lifestyle brand As Ever, and debuted a Netflix cooking show, all while raising Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

Her brand continues to grow, with her 2024 Napa Valley Rosé selling out in under an hour during its recent restock. Despite constant criticism in the media, Jennie says Meghan has reasons to feel proud. “She’s built up a substantial social media following in very little time. The products she endorses or sells seem to do exceptionally well. Her TV and podcast shows, although clearly not groundbreaking, are perfectly watchable.”

Focusing on authenticity and family

In a recent podcast, Meghan spoke about her return to social media. “I’m just grateful,” she told Skims founder Emma Grede. “Now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share things on my own terms.”

Referring to a video of herself twerking to “Baby Mama” while pregnant with Lilibet, Meghan said: “That was four years ago. It’s also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there’s still a whole life, a real, authentic, fun life that’s happening behind the scenes.”

As the duchess marks another year, her focus remains on authenticity, family, and creative freedom.
