The Duchess of Sussex recently appeared as a guest on The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, where she opened up in a candid and heartfelt conversation.
Having previously stepped into podcasting herself with Confessions of a Female Founder—where she spoke about personal struggles including heartbreaking baby loss and health issues—this marked Meghan Markle’s first appearance on someone else’s podcast.
Joining host Jamie Kern Lima, the co-founder of IT Cosmetics, Markle took part in what was described as a relaxed, makeup-free chat in comfortable clothes. When asked about where she’s at in life right now, the duchess shared that she’s experiencing “a lot of pinch-me moments” while juggling several major endeavors.
Among them is the rebrand and relaunch of her lifestyle venture, which recently changed from American Riviera Orchard to As Ever. The brand’s debut included a selection of nine items—such as fruit preserves—that sold out in under an hour.
Markle has also been front and center in her new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, where she hosts and shares tips on cooking, gardening, and home life.
“I work so hard and I appreciate what hard work looks like,” she explained. “The moment that everything sells out, it doesn’t mean that we’re done.”
She described her home in Montecito as being in a bit of chaos lately, saying it currently “looks like a Costco or something – there are boxes everywhere,” likely referring to the overflow of products from As Ever.
During the conversation, Meghan also gave listeners a glimpse into her family life.
“I’m happy, and the kids are healthy and H [Prince Harry] is great,” she said.
Even with her professional achievements, she emphasized that it’s her family who truly “fill up” her “cup.”
Reflecting on the intense media scrutiny she’s endured in recent years, Markle noted that she has only read “1%” of what’s been written about her.
She said: “We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. To prove that you’re enough. You have to prove that you’re pretty enough. You have to prove that you’re smart enough.
“I’m just so done with the prove it game. And if you can’t see it, I can’t, I don’t need to prove to you why. That’s your loss.”
She continued: “Because I know that I’m a great friend, and I know the kind of mom I am, and I know the kind of human being I am.”
Host Jamie Kern Lima responded with praise, describing Markle as “the most generous friend” and someone who “shows up for your friends.”
