Meghan Markle Could Be ‘Feeling Broody’ For a Third Child Amid Motherhood Confessions: Expert

Prince Harry has publicly stated that he and Meghan Markle plan to have just two children.

But despite having reached that limit, psychologist Stefan Walters suggests that Meghan might be feeling “broody” and nostalgic for the experience of pregnancy and early motherhood.

Hints from Recent Comments

Walters, after analyzing Markle’s recent reflections on being a mother, told OK! magazine that her frequent mentions of motherhood may be a sign she’s yearning for a third child.

“Women often romanticize and enjoy that stage of pregnancy and having a newborn baby,” he said, “and want to really share that with the world at large because it can be such a unique and beautiful time.”

He believes Meghan may be processing those same emotions, using her platform to work through them and give herself a voice.

Processing Past Pain Through Her Podcast

Markle’s podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, appears to have provided a safe space for her to talk about the emotional toll of her past pregnancies.

In a recent episode with guest Reshma Saujani, she opened up about her miscarriage and shared that she suffered from postpartum pre-eclampsia. Walters believes these revelations are part of her effort to revisit and perhaps reframe the more painful aspects of those experiences.

“Pregnancy was a difficult, painful time for them, and at times, she seemed to be struggling,” he said. “She’s maybe finding a way to create or hold onto some of the happier moments from those early years.”

Freedom Beyond Royal Protocol

Walters also commented on the shift in Markle’s life since stepping away from royal duties. No longer restricted by the rigid traditions of the monarchy—like only releasing family photos on official occasions—she now has the liberty to share her private life more freely.

“I think she’s partly creating a platform for herself,” he explained. “After being publicly ridiculed, and facing backlash when she and Harry left the UK, she’s not just building a brand—she’s reclaiming her voice.”

Motherhood and the Weight of Expectations

In the final episode of her podcast, Meghan spoke about the difficulties of running a business while parenting two young children. As reported by People magazine, she shared with guest Sara Blakely that people often dismiss or forget how intense that period of life can be.

“You look at the past five, six years of my life,” she said, “it’s with being pregnant or with a newborn or with a toddler, and then another one.” She also recalled leaning heavily on Harry during her pregnancy with Archie, revealing that she was expected to wear high heels for public engagements despite gaining 65 pounds at the time.
