Princess Catherine is said to be “deeply unsettled” by Meghan Markle’s latest move, as reports suggest the Duchess of Sussex has set her sights on Natasha Archer, Catherine’s former aide and one of her most trusted confidantes.

Natasha “Tash” Archer, 37, stepped down from her royal role in July after 15 years at Catherine’s side. Throughout that time, she was widely credited as the creative mind behind the so-called “Kate Middleton Effect,” shaping the Princess’ wardrobe, public image, and supporting her during key life moments, from pregnancies to her recent cancer battle.

The End of an Era

Archer joined the royal household in 2007 and quickly became indispensable, blending regal elegance with accessibility in Catherine’s style. Her departure marked the end of a significant chapter, though the Palace publicly wished her “the very best for the exciting opportunities ahead.”

Following her exit, Archer launched her own luxury styling consultancy, positioning herself as a high-profile consultant for elite clients. She has also recently made her Instagram public and notably unfollowed Meghan and her As Ever brand.

Meghan’s Reported Offer

Despite this, insiders claim Meghan, 44, is undeterred and has already extended a lucrative proposal to Archer, hoping to recruit her for her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

A Hollywood insider revealed: “The offer’s already been floated—come to Montecito, work closely with her, and earn twice the usual fee. Meghan is laser-focused on her brand. She recognises Natasha’s value and is prepared to spend big to secure her.”

Catherine’s Concerns

According to a palace insider, the reports have left Catherine shaken. “For Kate this isn’t just about work—it’s personal,” the source told RadarOnline. “The thought of Meghan moving in on someone so central to her life feels like the deepest betrayal. She’s genuinely afraid Natasha could be tempted away and used against her, and could spill her secrets to Meghan.”

They added: “Natasha was the behind-the-scenes force who helped shape Kate’s image into something regal yet approachable, and Meghan knew it.”

Tense Royal Divide

The situation has only added to the already strained relations between the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex. Meghan and Catherine were last seen together at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022, the Duchess’ final known visit to the UK.
