Cruel Rumours Surround Meghan Markle’s Appearance

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been together for nearly a decade, marrying in 2018, but throughout their relationship, Meghan has been the target of persistent and hurtful rumours about alleged plastic surgery and nose jobs.

The former actress gave up her Hollywood career after marrying into the royal family. Before her royal life, she was best known for her role in the legal drama Suits.

Accusations of a Nose Job

Speculation about Meghan’s appearance began years ago, with trolls claiming she had undergone a nose job—even after she shared photos of her teenage years. The 44-year-old has never responded to these claims or confirmed undergoing any cosmetic procedures.

Back in 2017, Dr Ifeoma Ejikeme, Medical Director of Adonia Medical Clinic and Consultant Physician at UCLH, spoke out in Meghan’s defence. She told The Express: “Looking at her teenage pictures and now there are no obvious enhancements. Beautiful then and beautiful now.”

Fresh accusations surfaced again recently after Meghan posted images from her birthday celebrations. In the photos, she was blowing out candles on a cake at a restaurant with friends, and a side profile shot reignited the cruel claims.

Critics seemed to overlook that Meghan has been in the public eye for decades, and that natural changes happen over time. Evolving makeup trends—such as contouring, bronzing, and highlighting—have also dramatically transformed how people’s features appear in photographs compared to her youth.

Old Instagram Posts Counter the Rumours

Before joining the royal family, Meghan was active on Instagram, posting photos of her travels, dinners with friends, and candid moments. She shut down her account after becoming part of The Firm, partly to transition to an official royal profile and partly due to online harassment.

Reflecting on that choice in 2020, Meghan said: “I’ve made a personal choice to not have any account, so I don’t know what’s out there, and in many ways that’s helpful for me.”

Many of her archived posts still circulate, and they show clearly that her nose has remained unchanged over the years—only time and style have evolved her look. Several side profile shots from those years undermine claims of surgical alteration.

A Nose Many Admire

As Meghan’s relationship with Prince Harry became public, her popularity soared. Fans adopted her polished fashion sense, while some even sought surgery to replicate her facial features.

In 2017, Dr David Cangello told People magazine: “Overall her nose balances nicely with the rest of her facial features. Many patients seek nasal proportions similar to Meghan’s when describing their ideal nose during consultation.”
