Nettle in A.L.C.O.H.O.L is stronger than any medicine, my grandfather used to say: Remember this recipe for life!

Nettle with Alcohol (Homemade Rakia or Vodka) for External Use. A remedy you shouldn’t ignore!

For many, nettle is just an annoying weed that needs to be pulled out. But for others, it’s one of the most powerful natural medicines growing freely in public places. Nettle grows abundantly, and its effects on our health are truly priceless.

If you want to take full advantage of its healing properties, don’t hesitate to soak it in homemade rakia or vodka. This makes for an excellent natural remedy for hair loss and joint or bone pain.

What is Nettle Good for When Used Externally?

  • Reduces hair loss
  • Helps with rheumatism
  • Soothes varicose veins
  • Relieves joint and bone pain
  • Nourishes and regenerates the skin
  • Fights skin conditions
  • Improves the health of hair and skin
  • Reduces muscle spasms

Remember:

• Harvest nettle before it flowers — that’s when it’s most potent (after flowering, the nutrients go into the blossoms). Choose young tips just a few centimeters long.

• Young nettle only needs to be steeped; older nettle should be boiled briefly to neutralize the sting.

Nettle and Alcohol for Healthy Hair and Joint Pain Relief

This is an excellent homemade remedy for external use. Nettle infused in alcohol is a great natural solution to withdrawal symptoms, and it also helps relieve pain and swelling in joints and muscles.

It’s particularly helpful for people suffering from rheumatism or painful carpal tunnel syndrome.

Recipe:

• Press fresh nettle into a 300 ml glass container using a wooden spoon until it’s about ¾ full. Fill the rest with alcohol (vodka or rakia).

• Seal the container and let it sit for 4 days, pressing the nettle down daily with a wooden spatula.

• After 4 days, strain through cheesecloth.

For Hair Care

If you’re dealing with hair loss, massage this mixture into your scalp every other day for two weeks.
To simply promote stronger, thicker hair, use the infusion after every hair wash.

For Joint Pain and Swelling

Rub the mixture onto sore joints before bedtime — it’s especially good for wrist and knee pain.

It’s also effective for varicose veins: apply using a cotton pad to affected areas.
This is a powerful home remedy I absolutely recommend.

Nettle Tincture for Internal Use

Preparation:

• Dry nettle leaves in a cool, dark place. Fill a glass jar to the top with the dried leaves.

• Pour in 40% alcohol (vodka or rakia) until the leaves are fully submerged.

• Seal the jar and leave it in a cool, dark place for 6–8 weeks.

• After 8 weeks, strain and pour into a dark glass bottle.

Dosage:

• Take 10–20 drops diluted in a little water, 2–3 times a day on an empty stomach. Shake well before use.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Benefits of Nettle Tincture

• Acts as a natural diuretic

• Aids digestion and detoxification

• Has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties

• Strengthens the immune system and supports circulation

• Helps treat arthritis, rheumatism, and gout

• May lower blood pressure and blood sugar levels

Warning

• Nettle tincture is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

• If you have any health conditions, consult your doctor before using it.

Tips

  • You can add nettle tincture to tea or juice.
  • It can also be used externally on wounds and burns.
  • Always wear gloves when harvesting fresh nettle — the leaves have stinging hairs.
  • Use high-quality alcohol for tinctures, and store them in a cool, dark place.
