Prince Harry Reveals Kate Middleton’s Texts To Meghan Markle During Infamous Argument

Prince Harry has disclosed the text messages that Kate Middleton allegedly sent to Meghan Markle during their well-known argument.

In his memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex has openly shared details, offering a closer look at the tensions within the royal family, especially in the lead-up to the Sussexes’ wedding in 2018.

One key moment highlighted was the disagreement between Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, regarding the flower girl dresses.

Prince Harry has revealed text messages between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

In his memoir, Prince Harry shares that just days before the wedding, Middleton sent a message to Markle about Princess Charlotte’s dress, saying (according to Harper’s Bazaar): “Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy.”

She then added: “She cried when she tried it on at home.”

The duke clarified that the dresses were made based on measurements taken earlier.

To ease the situation, Markle reminded Middleton that a tailor was ready at Kensington Palace to make any necessary adjustments.

She wrote: “Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8 a.m. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?”

However, Middleton reportedly insisted that ‘all the dresses be remade,’ following the advice of her wedding dress designer, Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, who allegedly supported her concerns.

As tensions rose, Markle brought up the intense pressure she was feeling because of the ongoing media attention surrounding her father, Thomas Markle.

Prince Harry then said: “Meg asked if Kate was aware of what was going on right now. With her father.”

Middleton acknowledged the situation but stood firm on the issue with the dress, replying: “And the wedding is in four days!”

The duchess tried to resolve the situation, writing: “I’m not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn’t fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He’s been waiting all day.”

In the end, Middleton gave in and responded briefly: “Fine.”

This exchange reportedly left Markle feeling deeply hurt, and Prince Harry later recalled coming home to find her “sobbing” on the floor.

Prince Harry said he came home to find Meghan Markle ‘sobbing’ over the situation.

Months later, tabloids published a different version of events, claiming that Markle had made Middleton cry.

In December 2018, Markle, Prince Harry, Middleton, and Prince William met privately at Nottingham Cottage to address the issue.

According to the duke, during this conversation, Middleton reportedly acknowledged the inaccuracies in the media reports, allegedly saying: “I know, Meghan, that I was the one who made you cry.”

Despite this supposed acknowledgment, little was done to set the record straight.

Prince Harry described Middleton as becoming ‘flustered,’ while Prince William offered ‘supportive-sounding evasions.’

This led the Sussexes to question who might have leaked the false story.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton held a private meeting regarding the situation.

Prince Harry wrote that after much conversation, Prince William eventually acknowledged that he “might’ve” brought up the conflict during a dinner with their father, King Charles III, and Queen Camilla, while Harry and Markle were on their Australian tour.

The revelation left the duke and duchess in shock.

“I put my hand over my face. Meg froze. A heavy silence fell. So now we knew,” Prince Harry recalled.

He confronted his brother, saying: “You of all people should’ve known.”

Prince William reportedly nodded in acknowledgment, and the meeting ended in silence.

Prince William said he ‘might’ve’ mentioned the situation to King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Markle later spoke out about the incident in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, where she rejected the tabloid’s version of events.

The duchess stated: “I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details of [the fight], because she apologized. And I’ve forgiven her.”

Despite this, she expressed her frustration at being unjustly blamed.

Markle shared: “What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only I didn’t do, but that happened to me.”

She also revealed that people at the wedding had informed the Sussexes’ communications team that the tabloid story was false.
