Harry and Meghan hug LA fire victims after going into ‘crisis mode’ during evacuation

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been seen offering support to victims of the destructive Los Angeles wildfires, which have left thousands homeless.

The couple was spotted comforting those affected by the fires, including celebrities like Paris Hilton and Anthony Hopkins. Harry and Meghan disclosed that they had opened their Montecito home to friends and loved ones who had to evacuate due to the nearby blazes. They are also believed to have donated essential supplies such as clothing, children’s items, and more to the victims.

The Sussexes were seen speaking with those impacted by the disaster. They handed out food parcels at the Pasadena Convention Centre, which serves as an evacuation center. They also embraced José Andrés, the founder of World Central Kitchen, as his organization provided meals to the displaced.

Meghan wore a light blue shirt and blue baseball cap, while Harry dressed in a black shirt and cap. The couple also took time to console Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, who commended them, describing them as “great people” with “great personalities.” He added, “They really lifted the spirits of the first responders. At the command post at the Rose Bowl, people were delighted to see them.”

Reports indicate that Harry and Meghan are prepared to activate “crisis mode” if they need to evacuate their home. Their security team has reportedly been coordinating an evacuation plan and preparing essentials for their children, Archie and Lilibet.

A neighbor commented, “It’s not chaotic here yet, but the fire is moving fast, and we’re not taking any chances.” The couple and their neighbors have received public safety survival kits, which include solar chargers, flashlights, and protective gear, along with ice, water, snacks, and safety pamphlets.

Before their appearance, Harry and Meghan publicly recommended supporting various fire service charities, animal groups, and other initiatives. In a statement, they acknowledged the widespread devastation caused by the wildfires, urging people to offer safe havens and donate essentials to those affected. They praised the American Red Cross for its ongoing relief efforts.

The California wildfires have claimed ten lives and forced thousands to flee their homes, including many in celebrity-frequented areas. Paris Hilton shared her sorrow on social media after witnessing her home’s destruction live on TV. Describing the fires as “hell” on earth, she expressed her heartbreak, stating, “Seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to endure.”

She added, “This home held so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps, and we dreamed of creating a lifetime of memories with London. Despite the overwhelming loss, I’m grateful that my family and pets are safe. My heart and prayers go out to all families affected by these fires.”
