Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter Dies At 100 In Front Of His Family – His Son Speaks Out

Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States and recipient of the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the age of 100. Surrounded by his family at his home in Plains, Georgia, Carter leaves behind a legacy as the longest-living president in U.S. history.

He is survived by his four children—Jack, Chip, Jeff, and Amy—along with 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalynn, and one grandchild. His passing signifies the close of an extraordinary life devoted to promoting peace, human rights, and selfless service to humanity.

Reflecting on his father’s profound impact, Carter’s son Chip shared a heartfelt tribute: “My father was a hero, not only to me but to everyone who believes in peace, human rights, and unselfish love. My brothers, sister, and I shared him with the rest of the world through these common beliefs. The world is our family because of the way he brought people together, and we thank you for honoring his memory by continuing to live these shared beliefs.”

Public ceremonies to honor President Carter’s life and enduring legacy will be held in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., with a private interment to follow in Plains, Georgia.
