Goldie Hawn reveals real reason why she never married Kurt Russell

Love appears to be abundant in Hollywood all the time. But it’s common knowledge that partnerships in the entertainment industry don’t endure very long. Thankfully, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have not experienced it. No, they appear to have an unbreakable bond.

The two have been together for nearly forty years, and their beginnings are a beautiful tale. However, they never got married, and they still have no intentions to get married. Why? Goldie Hawn has a precise explanation, though.

In a recent interview with CNN’s Chris Wallace, the 77-year-old actress from Private Benjamin spoke up about why she and her longtime partner Russell, who they have been dating for almost 40 years, have not been married.

“Why don’t you two get married?” “Why should we be?” was Hawn’s response when Wallace asked her on his show, “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? Isn’t it a more pertinent query?

Hawn, whose two marriages ended in divorce, responded that she and Russell, 72, have witnessed the consequences of ending a marriage, in part, when Wallace asked the same question again.

“It turns out to be big business when it doesn’t work out,” the actress stated.

“It’s always ugly,” she continued. “Somebody actually has to take a look and say, ‘How many divorces actually are fun? How many divorces actually don’t cost money? How many divorces actually make you hate the person more than you did before? How many divorces have hurt children?’ ”

“But [you and Russell have] been together 40 years, you’re not going to get divorced,” Wallace rebutted about her relationship with the Guardians of the Galaxy actor, which started in 1983. Their son Wyatt Russell, 37, was born just three years later.

“How did you know that then?” Hawn questioned in response, adding that she liked having the choice of being in a relationship. “I like the idea that I can wake up in the morning and make decisions every day if I want to be here.”

“Relationships are hard,” she explained. “They’re not always easy. There’s all kinds of hurdles we go through. There’s things that we believe in, things we don’t believe in, we agree on.”

“So I think ultimately staying independent with independent thinking is important, so you can hold on to yourself, and you can actually have that feeling,” she concluded.

Hawn’s first marriage was to director Gus Trikonis in 1969, but they divorced in 1976. She later married musician Bill Hudson, with whom she shares two children, Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson, though their marriage lasted only six years.

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are a true inspiration for sustaining a relationship over time. We want the best for them in the future, and they are still incredibly in love.

Please tell your friends and family about Hawn and Russell’s lovely tale.
