Princess Kate’s very firm policy with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Louis

The Prince and Princess of Wales are determined to give their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis as normal an upbringing as possible.

Princess Kate is determined to provide her children with a semblance of normality, despite their central position in the monarchy and consequently in the public eye.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are proud parents of Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six and they live together in their family home at the Grade II listed residence Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

Whether it’s taking her children to school, participating in outdoor activities, or being involved in their day-to-day routines, Princess Kate is committed to ensuring that George, Charlotte, and Louis experience the joys and challenges of childhood much like any other children their age.

And, according to a royal source, Kate’s firm policy involves giving no “preferential treatment” to the young royals. The source told GB News, regarding the children’s roles at home: “I think it would surprise people to see how ordinary things are at home.”

The source also described chores conducted by the children, saying: “The children help with laying the table, clearing their plates when they’ve finished eating and helping with tidying up. There’s no preferential treatment.”

Describing the family within the walls of Adelaide Cottage, they explained: “Home is a safe haven. In a bid to keep things functioning as smoothly as possible, Kate has been keen for everything to carry on as normal for the children.”

They added that Kate helps keep the family “down to earth”. Born into a middle-class family and educated in public schools, Kate experienced a childhood far removed from the royal spotlight.

Kate, also an avid advocate for the benefits of nature on mental health, has previously shown she frequently takes her children on nature walks and encourages them to explore the world around them.

It is said the mother of three will make the journey to Scotland this summer so her family can spend time with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Balmoral.

Princess Kate also has a helpful support network around her including her mother Carole Middleton, the insider said, which has proven to be a sign of strength following her cancer diagnosis earlier in the year.

The source added: “She has a lovely supportive family to turn to, which helps.”

As Kate undergoes treatment following her diagnosis earlier this year, she has relied upon her immediate family in her time of need. Carole, 69, is known to be very close with her eldest daughter, and was branded a “real Mary Poppins-like figure” to her grandchildren Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

A source previously told the Independent: “Carole has been the driving force keeping the family together with minimum fuss and maximum modesty. She’s ferried and fetched George, Louis and Charlotte, taken them to school sports matches and given them endless support. She’s been a real Mary Poppins-like figure.”

Royal expert Jennie Bond also told the Mirror: “Catherine may be 42, but she is still Carole’s little girl, and to watch her go through this and withstand the bullying pressure to explain must have been desperately upsetting.”
