Princess Kate and Prince William’s tiny ‘olive branch’ to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

The offering is said to have been something the late Queen ‘would have loved’.

The reportedly fractious relationship between Prince William and Princess Kate and the Sussexes doesn’t appear to show any signs of improving, but there have been glimmers of hope in the past, a royal author has claimed.

Revelations in book and TV form from Prince Harry and Meghan are said to have driven the once close quadruple of royals apart in recent years.

However, during the most seismic event of recent royal history, the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, there was reportedly a gesture made by Princess Kate and Prince William that may show all is not lost for the future.

OK! reports as the Royal Family awaited arrangements for the funeral of the Queen, an informal supper brought together the feuding couples.

In the new book, ‘Charles III. New King. New Court. The Inside Story’, author Robert Hardman writes that William and Kate made a small conciliatory gesture, which would have been approved by Elizabeth II.

The author wrote: “Inside the palace, all members of the Royal Family were there to welcome the Queen back to royal headquarters for the last time, followed by an informal supper.

“Afterwards, the Prince and Princess of Wales suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should attach their car to their police escort for the journey back to Windsor since they were all going the same way.

“It was only a small gesture (they would not be sharing a car) and nowhere near any sort of reconciliation. However, the late Queen would have approved.”

After her appearance at Wimbledon, Princess Kate and her husband Prince William have confirmed a “very exciting” new project focusing on mental health will be coming later this year.

The royal pair have long been advocates for mental health, dedicating significant time and resources to support various initiatives aimed at improving mental well-being.

The Prince of Wales has previously stated: “It’s time that everyone speaks up and really feels very normal about mental health, it’s the same as physical health. Everybody has mental health and we shouldn’t be ashamed of it and just having a conversation with a friend or family member can really make such a difference.”
