Meghan Markle didn’t exactly leave the greatest royal legacy in the eyes of fans once she and Prince Harry left their senior royal member roles in 2020 and moved to North America. Although she has revealed many tragic things she had to go through while being a member of the Firm, there have been several incidents where royal fans have turned against her. Not long ago, she was even accused of trying to steal the spotlight from her former royal friend, Kate Middleton.

The rift with the royal family goes back many years. Prince Harry has visited the UK some times since, but Meghan Markle has not been with him on many occasions. One reason is reportedly security, but even so, it could also be seen as if the Duchess isn’t interested in mending the relationship with the royals.

According to one royal expert, Harry is missing his old friends and is looking for a permanent home in the UK. The feud between the Sussexes and The Firm has been ongoing for years, and nothing points towards them ever making amends. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan reached out to Kate Middleton after her surgery as well as when she announced she had been diagnosed with cancer – which Harry and Meghan reportedly heard of through the news and not directly from their family members.

Even though the relationship is icy, one royal expert suggests that Prince William and Kate Middleton are ready to give it another shot to bury the hatchet.

Speaking with the Mirror, expert and royal author Tom Quinn stated that the Prince and Princess of Wales were open to the idea of inviting Harry and Meghan, as well as their children, to visit England.

However, Meghan didn’t seem too keen on the idea – and passed on the offer.

“There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK,” Quinn told the Mirror in early April.

“William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.”

In May, Prince Harry visited his home country once again, attending a special Invictus Games service at St Paul’s Cathedral. Reports suggested that he was very keen on having Meghan by his side at the service, and at first, sources stated that she wanted to go.

But not long after, Meghan Markle made a shocking u-turn — and once again, it concerned her children.

A source said that while Meghan had hopes of going to the UK with Harry in May, she didn’t want to bring Archie and Lilibet with her because she feared for her children’s safety.

“It’s now got to the point where Meghan doesn’t want to come to the UK with the children. She just doesn’t feel safe. The situation is now about whether the family should attend with increased security or Harry should go it alone,” the source said.

Moreover, Harry reportedly begged his wife to reconsider, saying, “I don’t want to do this alone.”

“Harry doesn’t want to keep making solo trips to the UK,” the source continued. “He would prefer it if the entire family made regular visits to see his family and build bridges, but there is so much going on behind the scenes that it just isn’t possible at the moment.”

Time will tell if Meghan Markle will join his husband for the UK trip. But one thing is for sure: A reunion with the royal family seems very far away.

Speaking to GB News, royal expert Angela Levin claimed the Duchess is “still genuinely hurt” by how the “royal family treated her.” Still, Meghan is ready to reunite with them to talk about things, the royal expert said.

“She’s still genuinely hurt by how she was treated by the Royal Family – this is four years on,” Levin told GB News. “And she wants to now at last sit down and talk through things.”

Further, Angela Levin claimed that Meghan wants the royal family to “make apologies” to her and Prince Harry.

“We know that means she wants the Royal Family, King Charles and everyone else to make an apology, but they don’t,” she continued. “The person who should apologise is really her, but they don’t want that.”

“She’s also trying to get Beatrice and Eugenie, who’s on top of her list, to get people to help her sell her jams. And she’s really hoping that King Charles might take one, too,” the royal expert concluded.

“It comes from quite a good source, and that would be her excuse to go there, she wanted to make sure everything was nice, but it’s also a way of selling her products.”

Meghan Markle reportedly “never wanted to set foot in Britain ever again,” but this might change their relationship with the royals.

The Duchess was said to have reached out to Kate Middleton both after the abdominal surgery and also the cancer diagnosis, which the Sussexes found out about from the news and not from their family.

Meghan Markle is focusing on her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, and has gone on to sell jam. But as for Angela Levin’s report that making amends with the royals could help her sell more jam will probably not go down well with royal fans, as Meghan was accused of taking advantage of Kate’s royal return some weeks ago.
